Damian Sloan was appointed as a Commissioner of the Fair Work Commission in August 2024, bringing more than 25 years of experience across employment law, industrial relations, and workplace compliance.

Before joining the Commission, Damian served as a Commissioner of the Industrial Relations Commission of New South Wales from 2018, where he presided over complex industrial and workplace disputes and contributed to the development of fair and consistent employment practices.

His earlier career spans senior executive and legal leadership roles, including Group General Manager – Employee & Industrial Relations at Toll Holdings Limited, and Partner in leading law firms Middletons (now K&L Gates), Ebsworth & Ebsworth, and Holding Redlich, where he advised major employers on workforce strategy, enterprise bargaining, and regulatory compliance.

Damian holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws from the Australian National University. Known for his practical, balanced, and principled approach, he remains deeply committed to promoting fair and sustainable workplace relations in Australia’s rapidly changing employment landscape.
